![]() Before you come to the practice, it will be necessary to contact us via email or telephone to make an appointment. A health history form, which you will need to fill in prior to arriving at the clinic will be emailed to you. Please fill this in promptly. It is usually easier to complete this at home where you can think about the questions in a relaxed environment and have any medication names etc to hand. It will usually also make sure that you do not forget to mention anything. We ask that you respond within good time with your form so that your chiropractor can process your information prior to your consultation. When you arrive at the practice, your history will be further discussed with your chiropractor; the more information you disclose the more focused your treatment can be. After discussing your health history a careful and full physical examination will be performed. Your Chiropractor will then give you a report of their findings and an appropriate diagnosis, treatment and management programme if indicated on this first visit. Wear appropriate clothing to each consultation. Exercise clothing is absolutely fine if you are uncomfortable in underwear, but your chiropractor will need to assess you, which is difficult with full clothing on. Ladies are supplied with treatment gowns and males have the option of shorts, if required.
Try to listen to and follow any advice given, for example if exercises are prescribed, try to do them as instructed. However if exercises cause pain, don’t do them and tell your chiropractor and a suitable alternative will be discussed.Always make sure to ask any questions if you do not understand or need anything clarified. Lifestyle is usually a hugely contributive factor in pain, options to help minimise the stresses and strains that come with modern life will be discussed. Together we will also try to come up with ways for you to continue to do all the things you want to without risking injury. |
